The Sherlock Holmes Society of London reviews The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Part IX and X, 2018 Annual

“These two latest volumes maintain the high standard set three years ago by editor and publisher. Parts IX and X between them contain thirty-seven new stories, all as faithful as possible to the canonical tradition and style. The authors include Sonia Fetherston, S.F. Bennett, Mark Mower, Kelvin Jones, Jayantika Ganguly, Daniel D Victor, Hugh Ashton, Tim Symonds and David Marcum himself. There’s also a play by the late Jim French, and another by Leslie Charteris and Denis Green – a nice addendum to Sherlock Holmes: The Lost Radio Scripts. Nicholas Meyer, whose novel The Seven-per-Cent Solution effectively began the age of quality Holmes pastiche, contributes a foreword. Neither editor nor authors will benefit financially, as all royalties go towards the conservation of Undershaw, Conan Doyle’s former Surrey home, which now houses Stepping Stones School. The books are treasurable and the cause is admirable.

Kickstarter – The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Volumes 9 & 10

Last week to support on Kickstarter – The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Volumes 9 & 10

“The MX New Book of Sherlock Holmes Stories” collection has over 100 of the world’s leading Sherlock Holmes authors participating.

The anthology includes only traditional stories set in the original Sherlock Holmes period. Between them, these authors have sold millions of books, and they come together for a common cause – Undershaw.

This is Volumes IX and X – The 2018 Annual bringing 37 new stories spread across the two volumes. Full list of participating authors is below.

“No historical material here. This is all new, and it’s beyond impressive, in quantity (more than 60 stories in three handsome volumes) and in consistent quality. Here are some — most — of the best, most dedicated Holmesian authors working today” – Sherlock Holmes Society of London review of Volumes I-III

The authors are donating the royalties to projects at Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s former home, Undershaw. The building was in terrible disrepair and was saved from destruction by the Undershaw Preservation Trust (patron Mark Gatiss). Today the building is the new home of Stepping Stones (a school for children with learning difficulties) and has being lovingly restored to its former glory. Royalties will go to Stepping Stones for specific projects such as the new literary program.

Volume IX: 2018 Annual (1879-1895) features contributions by: Deanna Baran, Roger Riccard, David Marcum, Tracy Revels, S.R. Bennett, Nick Cardillo, Robert Stapleton, Kevin Thornton, Leslie Charteris and Denis Green, Shane Simmons, James Moffett, C.H. Out on 31st October – The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories – Part VII and VIII – Eliminate The Impossible

The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories – Part VII and VIII – Eliminate The Impossible

Volumes VII and VIII bringing forty-eight more stories to the world’s largest collection of new Sherlock Holmes Stories – specially written for Halloween.

In 2015, The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories burst upon the scene, featuring adventures set within the correct time period, and written by many of today’s leading Sherlockian authors from around the world. Those first three volumes were overwhelmingly received, and there were soon calls for additional collections. Since then, their popularity has only continued to grow, with six volumes already released, and now two more, Eliminate the Impossible, featuring tales of Holmes’s encounters with seemingly impossible events – ghosts and hauntings, curses and mythical beasts, and more.

In each of the stories presented in this massive two-volume collection, Holmes approaches the varied problems with one of his favorite maxims firmly in place: “… . when you have eliminated the impossible whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth … .” But what, exactly, is the truth?

The forty-eight stories in these two companion volumes represent some of the finest new Holmesian storytelling to be found, and honor the man described by Watson as “the best and wisest … whom I have ever known.”

All royalties from this collection are being donated by the writers for the benefit of the preservation of Undershaw, one of the former homes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories – Eliminate The Impossible is available from all good bookstores including   Amazon USA, Barnes and Noble USA, Amazon UK, and for free shipping worldwide Book Depository.
